(US Dept. of Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration) Studies show that a substance abuser will function at about 67% of his/her capacity, is 3 times more likely to be late for work, 2.5 times more likely to have absences of eight or more days and have 3.6 times as many accidents.

It is estimated that drug users cost businesses over $100 billion per year, directly and indirectly. The Federal Government estimates 71 percent of illegal drug abusers are employed, most by small businesses
